This year we’re continuing our prideful celebrations with new, free content across all Riot games!

Below we’re getting into how, when, and where you can claim this year’s Pride content, but if you’re looking to find out more about what Pride means at Riot Games check out our article on it here.

Alright, there’s a lot to get into, and a lot to be proud about, so let’s dive into all the ways you can support Pride across our games starting early June! First up, League of Legends!

League of Legends:

What: New Pride icons join the roster! You can pick each of these up for 1 Blue Essence a pop! Check out the list here: Prismatic Pengu Icon, Cotton Candy Pengu Icon, Galactic Pengu Icon, Sunset Pengu Icon, Twilight Pengu Icon, Primary Pengu Icon, Sherbert Pengu Icon, Mint Pengu Icon.

By equipping these prideful icons you’ll be able to activate homeguard trails that celebrate the diversity of the LGTBQIA+ community! The homeguard trails will be active until the end of June. While seven are returning from prior Pride festivities, we’ve got a new trail entering the mix that’s as minty fresh as its color palette. We also have three new emotes, one of which is animated, another of which alludes to love in the cards.

How and When: You can unlock the Pride 2022 emotes through Missions that’ll pop up in your client starting June first! You’ll only have till the end of June to complete these missions, so plan wisely around the Diana/Leona themed Pride party you neglected to invite me to.

Details Plz: Just by equipping our Pride icons you can alter your League of Legends profile background art with our new Pride art (see top of article). You may be noticing the presence of a certain Bilgewater duo across these emotes and missions—keep an eye peeled for a larger narrative beat for them hitting the deck soon.[/vc_column_text][divider What: Pride is in the cards this year. Over at Legends of Runeterra that means there’s a new card back, Guardian, emote, and icon. The icon is the same for Wild Rift, so check them out in the Wild Rift section!

How and When: The cost of Pride—that’s free baby! Pick up the Pride bundle in the store for 0 coins starting June 15th!

Details Plz: The Pride 2022 Bundle will be available until July 20th, so get it while you can!

Teamfight Tactics:

What: A brand new Pride boom comes to TFT, that alongside our other Pride booms, can be equipped to show your LGBTQIA+ pride, but also your pride in winning each round! Check out our Pride booms: Mint Boom (video below), Rose Quartz Boom, Sapphire Boom, Catseye Boom, Obsidian Boom, Tanzanite Boom, Citrine Boom, Rainbow Boom

How and When: The new Pride booms drop in patch 12.10, via a new mission, Tacticians Stand United. It’s a pretty easy mission, simply play 2 games of TFT (standard queues), or play 1 game of Double Up! Just be sure to do so before June 30th!

Details Plz: I’ll use this time to remind you that equipping any of the Pride Icons (shown above in the League of Legends section) will give your Tactician the correlating Pride trail to swoop in on your preferred item from Carousel in style!

Wild Rift:

What: Taking Pride on the go? Wild Rift is too, via a new emote, a new icon (Aquamarine Poro) and a temporary trail (Rainbow Lane)! And if you missed out on Pride last year—just know that we missed you too, but also know that you can get the 7 Poro Icons from the 2021 Pride event by completing the first of Wild Rift’s two Pride missions.

How and When: Pride wilds out on the mobile Rift, starting June 1st and ending June 22nd, with two missions to show your support!

Riot Games deepens relationship with Statespace, developer of training and coaching platform, Aim Lab

Videogames

League of Legends and VALORANT Publisher and Developer Will Become a Minority Shareholder in Statespace to Expand Longtime Partnership

Los Angeles, California – May 18, 2022 – Riot Games, the developer and publisher known for genre-defining games including League of Legends and VALORANT, today announced that it has deepened its relationship with Statespace, developer of training and coaching platform, Aim Lab.

Under the terms of the agreement, Aim Lab will become VALORANT’s official training and coaching platform. Aim Lab will leverage Riot’s Intellectual Property to integrate in-game physics, maps, and weapons that will enable VALORANT players most true-to-game training possible. Riot, upon exercise of a warrant issued in connection with the agreement, will gain a minority stake in Statespace and continue to work together with Aim Lab to develop innovative training, coaching, and scouting tools for VALORANT players and eventually MOBA players.

“We look forward to collaborating with Statespace on developing innovative training and coaching tools for VALORANT and MOBA players around the world to improve their skills at every level,” said Jake Perlman-Garr, Global Head of Corporate Development at Riot Games.

“Riot has been the best partner, collaborator, and facilitator that we could have asked for. We are thrilled to continue to improve player experience through training, coaching, and scouting in VALORANT and soon, in League of Legends,” said Dr. Wayne Mackey, CEO of Statespace.

Over the past year, Riot and Statespace have collaborated to create incredible experiences for millions of players across multiple games and events. As a founding partner, the first collaboration was The Aim Lab Combine in partnership with VCT Challengers North America where for the first time, VALORANT players could see how they stacked up against legendary professionals. Riot and Statespace collaborated on Aim Lab tasks to celebrate the best plays from the first year and a rhythm task set to Die For You during VCT Champs. Aim Lab is installed on competition PCs at Masters and Champions to help pros warm up prior to matches and more.

After a record-breaking closed beta that saw more than 1.7 million peak concurrent viewers on Twitch, VALORANT, a competitive 5v5 character-based tactical shooter, quickly established itself as the fastest growing game in esports of 2020. Statespace’s Aim Lab expanded their partnership in the growing global esport through multiple programs including VALORANT Challengers North America, EMEA, LATAM, Game Changers, and VALORANT Champions Tour.

In November 2021, Aim Lab celebrated the launch of Arcane, Riot’s award-winning League of Legends universe animated series that premiered on Netflix and China’s Tencent video, with a shooting gallery themed to the Undercity location featured in the show. The shooting gallery was available in Aim Lab’s Creator Studio until the end of the February and Aim Lab created a special VR version in-person at Riot Games’ Undercity Nights experience in Los Angeles.

Riot reveals MSI 2022 Primer

Videogames

Los Angeles, California – May 4, 2022 – The 2022 League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational begins in a few short days! Here’s your one-stop shop for all things MSI.

What is the Mid-Season Invitational?

The Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) is a foundational battleground in the annual LoL Esports season, where rising stars and teams make a global name for themselves. Held between the first and second splits of the season, the best team from the regional leagues compete for the title. MSI is a time for regions to showcase their bold and unique identities and foreshadows the work needed for pros looking to claim a World Championship title. Riot Games supervises regional leagues in North America, Europe, Latin America, Brazil, Oceania, Korea, Turkey, Russia, Vietnam, China, Japan, and Southeast Asia. The event moves between host regions each year; this year, teams will compete in Busan, South Korea.

This year’s creative theme, “TAKE NOTES,” is a confident, attitude-infused call to action that highlights the epic moves and original style of MSI’s greatest pros. It continues to build out MSI as the bolder, grittier battleground of LoL Esports.

When is MSI happening?

MSI has three stages: the Group Stage, May 10-15; the Rumble Stage, May 20-24, and the Knockout Stage, May 27-29.

Where will MSI take place?

The tournament will take place in Busan, South Korea, in two venues: the Busan Esports Arena (Groups) and the Bexco Exhibition Hall (Rumble and Knockouts). Busan is Korea’s second most populous city and is considered the home of esports – Busan hosted various stages of Worlds 2014 and Worlds 2018 previously. This is the first time MSI has traveled to Korea.
What’s the format?

GROUPS: Teams have been drawn into two groups of four and one group of three to play a best-of-one double round robin within their respective group during the Group Stage. The group of three will play a quadruple round robin.

TFT Gizmos & Gadgets Mid-Set, Neon Nights, comes to PBE and will be live on February 16

Videogames

TFT’s largest roster swap to date shines in the latest mid-set update

London, UK – February 1, 2022 – TFT Gizmos & Gadgets’ Neon Nights mid-set update will feature more than 20 new units, three new champion traits, 80 new augments. It will also include a new pass, Little Legends, arenas and Project Abyssia as a new mythic Little Legend. On top of all of that, Silco from Arcane will be coming to add more than just his unstable concoction to the mix. The Mid-set will hit PBE test servers on February first and live servers on February 16th with patch 12.4.

Updated and Upgraded: New Traits

Hextech

Welcome to our Hextech dream, where every few seconds the Hexcore pulses with Hextech energy, granting allied Hextech units a shield for a few seconds. While Hextech units bear this shield, their attacks gain magic damage on hit.

Debonair

A trait that pulls together party-goers from across the Convergence, these soiree attendees know that there can only be one life of the party: the VIP.

Striker

Simple, yet striking, Strikers gain bonus attack damage to hit harder, and harder, and harder—turning Striker Emblems into gigantic Best Friend Swords to play with!

Socialite

With two new Socialites, the spotlight is sure to shine brighter! Socialite will still give bonus damage at (1), bonus mana regeneration at (2), and omnivamp at (3), but at (5) Socialite, all these bonuses will be DOUBLED!

Senna’s the new Socialite that turns pain into gain. Senna fires Piercing Darkness, which deals damage to all enemies in the direction of her target. For each enemy hit, she’ll heal the lowest health ally for a portion of the initial damage, plus a flat amount.

Rival

No longer just Sisters, Jinx and Vi have been pulled into the Convergence at an all new time in their careers—as Champions of Piltover and Zaun. For Vi, this means a new ability to show off her charming personality, and gauntlets.

Jinx still has her cliffhanger worthy ability, Super Mega Death Rocket, but with the updated trait, Rival, you’ll want to run either Jinx or Vi, as the two sisters can no longer work well together.

Augments, Augmented

In addition to our biggest mid-set roster swap to date, Neon Nights brings over 80 new Hextech Augments, the Edge of Night item, and a few other fun new gadgets.

Neon Nights comes with new gadgets and gizmos aplenty. Augments allow players to insert a ton of variety and decision making in each game.

New Item: Edge of Night

With the mid-set we’re swapping out Guardian Angel with Edge of Night, a brand new anti-burst item.

With Edge of Night, players maintain the powerful aggro drop, but give it a clear visual power in the form of a stealth that also sheds debuffs and afterwards grants an additional boon of attack speed.

Scouting your Future and your History

Last, and arguably most impactful, comes two experience changes that we will be implementing with the mid-set. First up, the Scouting Opponent Hint System!

There’s a lot to do in TFT, and keeping track of what opponents you’ve fought recently to know who you are more likely to fight next is just one more thing.

So, with the introduction of Neon Nights, and Augments like Future Sight that utilize opponent tracking, we pulled the trigger. We’re working on a matchup tracker that will help you get a sense of your next opponent. And while we see this as a necessary improvement to our UI, we want to make sure it’s done right—so expect this to launch a bit after our initial mid-set’s release.

We’re also updating our end of game match history to show Augments that players have chosen, and allow more units to be displayed for cases where players have a couple Tactician’s Crowns from a Mercenary cashout. Players can now scroll through their match history and examine their choices.

PROJECT Abyssia: New Mythic!

We’ve got a new Mythic Little Legend stealing the show during Neon Nights. PROJECT Abyssia is here to flaunt their new tech, and maybe “borrow” some more.

Little Legends Glowed Up for the Glow-down

The Little Legends of Neon Nights herald in a bright future to the fleeting light of tonight.

Gizmos & Gadgets Pass II

The Gizmos & Gadgets Pass II is your ticket to explore all the new bits and bots Neon Nights has to offer. Just like any other pass, players will play games and complete missions to further your progress and earn free rewards like emotes and Little Legend eggs.

Flex Check at the Hextech Battle Arena

In addition to the Pass+ arenas, Neon Nights takes players to the place where Choncc and Pengu are destined to put their battle bots to the test. The Hextech Battle Arena is a futuristic esports arena that casts your games with it’s over 97 unique lines that respond to your actions.

League of Legends: Renata Glasc reveals herself before her arrival on the Summoner’s Rift with patch 12.4

Videogames

“Progress comes at a price others aren’t willing to pay.”

London, UK – February 1, 2022 – Renata Glasc, the Chem Baroness, is the 159th champion in League of Legends and will be joining the Rift in Patch 12.4! Introduced as a Support, Renata Glasc descends from a family of resourceful and altruistic Zaunits alchemists. Thanks to her foresight and business acumen, she grows up to be an important figure in the district. Ambitious and with an advanced technological heritage, she plans to go beyond the borders of Zaun.

Renata Glasc Abilities Rundown:

Passive – Leverage

Renata Glasc’s basic attacks mark her enemies and deal bonus damage. Damage from Renata’s allies consumes the mark, dealing additional damage.

Q – Handshake

Renata Glasc sends out a missile from her robotic arm that roots the first enemy hit. She can reactivate the ability to throw the enemy in a target direction, damaging enemies hit and stunning them if the thrown target is a champion.

W –  Bailout

Renata Glasc grants an allied champion or herself ramping Attack Speed and Move Speed toward enemies. If the ally gets a takedown on an enemy champion, the buff duration resets. If the ally would die while Bailout is still active, their health is set back to full but they begin burning to death over 3 seconds. The ally can stop the burn by getting a champion takedown before they die.

E – Loyalty Program

Renata Glasc sends out chemtech rockets that shield allies and damage and slow enemies they pass through. The rockets also apply their effects around her on cast and in an explosion at max range.

R – Hostile Takeover

Renata Glasc sends out a cloud of chemicals that causes enemies to go Berserk, increasing their Attack Speed and forcing them to basic attack anything around them. Berserk enemies prioritize attacking their own allies, then neutral units, then Renata Glasc’s team, then Renata Glasc herself.

“Work for me, or work against me—doesn’t matter. Everyone comes to my side eventually.”

Zeri, the Spark of Zaun

Run fast, charge up, shoot the bad guys. Zeri, the Spark of Zaun, surges onto the Rift in patch 12.2!

“I stood up for my community. I can stand up for others too.”

Passive – Living Battery

Zeri gains Move Speed whenever she receives a shield. When she damages an enemy shield she absorbs its energy, shielding herself.

Q – Burst Fire

Passive: Zeri’s basic attack deals magic damage, scales with AP, and is treated as an ability. Moving and casting Burst Fire stores up energy in Zeri’s Sparkpack. When fully charged, her next basic attack will slow and deal bonus damage.
Active: Burst Fire shoots a burst of 7 rounds that deal physical damage to the first enemy hit.
Burst Fire scales with AD and is treated like an attack, with the first round applying on-hit effects. Its cooldown matches Zeri’s basic attack timer.

W – Ultrashock Laser

Zeri fires an electric pulse that slows and damages the first enemy hit. If the pulse hits a wall it fires a long range laser from the point of impact.

E – Spark Surge

Zeri dashes a short distance and energizes her next 3 casts of Burst Fire, causing them to pierce through enemies. She will vault over or grind along any terrain she dashes into, depending on the angle. Hitting a champion with an attack or ability reduces Spark Surge’s cooldown.

R – Lightning Crash

Zeri discharges a nova of electricity, damaging nearby enemies, and overcharges herself for a moderate duration. While overcharged, Zeri gains increased damage, Attack Speed, and Move Speed. Attacking enemy champions refreshes the overcharge duration and adds another stack of Move Speed. While overcharged, Burst Fire’s damage concentrates into a faster triple shot that chains lightning between enemies.

“Fight’s gettin’ messy. At least I’m consistent.”

Withered Rose Zeri

Zip, zap, and zoom with Zeri in patch 12.2!
