Caracas, Venezuela – We were blessed with the opportunity of going to the Venezuelan Games Show 2024, which is the largest gaming and tech event in Venezuela and one of the largest in LATAM. We sent our tech guy, Roger Guerrero, over there to be hands on this amazing experience, full of flair, charisma, beauty and of course, loads of gaming !
Watch here some of the impressions from the floor.
We had the opportunity to interview none other than Diego Hurtado, who is an uprising Venezuelan influencer that has amassed an audience of over 500.000 followers between all his channels, consisting of mostly young people who are interested in comedy and trending stuff.
Watch a small subtitled Diego Hurtado interview here.
The interview was full of humor and looked back at the times where brands like Sony, Nintendo and Nvidia presented their products on launch in Venezuela. The dire wish of having them all back in a bold Venezuelan market is profound.
We also had the chance to chat with several attendees and get their thoughts on the Venezuelan Games Show 2024. One of them was Capital Boar Gaming, which were also one of the sponsors and event organizers themselves.
“Events have grown. The world of geeks and nerds is now more present, and people perceive hobbies and entertainment as valuable; traditional brands in Venezuela have embraced this, not as a fad but as a form of artistic representation. Seeing this last event’s number of participants and visitors has been inspiring.”
“The hobby of wargaming is gathering more and more interest than ever. We need to continue to create, maintain and grow communities, while embracing both new and seasoned players. We see that the number of members and enthusiasts keeps growing…”
— Capital Boar Gaming
The amazing Ayzel-Chan crossed our path, too. We managed to get a few words from her. She was representing the E-Sports team and event creator: Streamer Arena.
“In this edition of Venezuelan Games Show 2024 the cosplayers were amazing, I reconnected with friends, took part in the cosplay contest, and also attended all the E-Sports tournaments.”
“I hosted the Counter-Strike tournament and also followed the Valorant tournament closely. A tournament which Streamer Arena won. This showed me that we really do have a lot of talent in Venezuela.”
— Alejandra Lopez (Ayzel-Chan)
In summary, Venezuela is a rapidly expanding market, with major brands like Doritos, Rexona, Red Dragon, Oreo, and PEPSI making a strong presence as sponsors for events like the Venezuelan Game Show 2024. With large E-Sports tournaments offering up to $40,000 in prize pools, this upcoming scene is proving its relevance beyond gaming, impacting the entire tech industry. We are happy to see forward thinking events like these secure the future demand for peripherals, high-end hardware, apparel, and more.
Thank you for your attention, and we look forward to next time!
